How to use
Typesets a web page, a file on your device, or a note / Wikipedia article on the spot. You can read the result right here in this window (vertical text scrolls sideways from right to left; horizontal text scrolls down). With a mouse you can drag the pages to turn them (hold Shift to select text instead). Changing "Text size" or "Vertical / horizontal" above the reading window re-typesets immediately and keeps your place. The mark at the top right goes full screen; the same mark brings you back. Settings under "More" take effect when you press "Show". If you need a PDF, choose PDF under "Output" in the settings (phones cannot draw a PDF in the page, so it is downloaded and opened instead).
- Article to book
- Turns note and Wikipedia articles, and works from Aozora Bunko, into a book-layout PDF. The setting follows the same design as the Japanese book Document: The National Buraku Survey Case (Jigensha). Horizontal with two columns gives a paper-like layout, and choosing a paperback trim size produces body pages that meet Amazon's submission requirements.
Output settings
- Output
- "Read on screen" lays the pages out in the reading window here. "PDF" builds a PDF, shows it in the frame, and offers a download.
- Paper size
- "As in the source" uses the size the document itself specifies. Anything else re-typesets at that size.
- Crop marks
- Adds marks showing where to trim. The sheet becomes slightly larger than the finished size. Use this when submitting to a printer.
- Imposition
- Places several pages on one sheet. Use this to make a booklet on a home printer.
- PDF/X-4
- Writes the PDF to the print standard: every typeface embedded, an output intent attached, and link annotations inside the text area removed.
These settings apply to all three kinds of input.
